Georgia since ancient times is a deeply religious country. Despite the enormous reverence for Christianity, people in Georgia are very tolerant and with due respect refer for other religions. In Georgia, there is a huge number of monasteries, churches and holy places that tourists can visit.

Tour is starting in Tbilisi – capital Georgia, is the city of contrasts. One city  harmoniously combines Eastern and Western civilizations, ancient and modern architecture, different cultures. In Tbilisi you will visit Sameba Trinity Cathedral, it’s the highest church in Georgia. It is 101m high. The beauty and sizes of cathedral are indeed breathtaking, it’s golden dome rises out of the hillside of St. Ilya and is visible from almost any point in the city. The stunning structure is part of a massive complex that includes a monastery, theology school, hotel and nine chapels (including five that are underground).

Metekhi Church (the 12 th century) standing close to the edge of the rocky bank of the Kura.

Sioni Cathedral is one of the most remarkable monuments of Georgian medieval architecture. It is located in Old Tbilisi, in the area of Sionis Kucha. Sioni Cathedral is inseparably linked with the history of the city: it lived and prospered, was built and destroyed, passed through fire and copper pipes together with Tbilisi.

Next destination is Mtskheta City – one of the oldest cities of Georgia. There you sac see Jvari Monastery, located on the hill top near the town Mtskheta, it is listed in UNESCO World Heritage Site list. Also we will see the most well known cathedral in Georgia, Svetitskhoveli is also one of the biggest in the country. The temple is on another UNESCO World Heritage listing because of its glorious architecture. Samtavro Convent is located in the spiritual center of Georgia, Mtskheta, and is considered the famous landmark of the town. The monastery was built by King Mirian near the blackberry, after the death of St. Nino. The history of the monastery is connected with the first Christians in Georgia, St. Nino and St. Gabriel. Near the village of Gergeti, outside the town of Stephantsminda, in Georgia, lies the isolated Gergeti Trinity Church. Also called the Holy Trinity Church, it sits on top of a mountain near Mount Kazbegi, one of the highest and most beautiful peaks of Caucasus, at an elevation of 2170 meters.

Dzama valley, hidden between valleys of Kartli and Borjomi forests, which is a home to around 50 new and old monasteries, represents a sacred place for Georgians. On the road you will see the signs for monasteries and kilometrages. Some of the interesting Monasteries include: Mukhileti, Mzovreti, Karmeli, Abukhalo and Sarkineti but you may find some even more exotic one where they will meet you with warmth and hospitality.
